Supply of equipment for oil, gas and petrochemical industries, import and supply of various types of valve needles
Valve needle ( Needle Valves)
Needle valves are used to precisely control the flow rate.
Their typical sizes range from 1.8 inches to 2 inches.
Its settings are simple and gradual. One of the disadvantages of needle valves is the relatively high pressure drop.
Construction and design
Needle valves have a long threaded planer with a tapered end needle.
This conical end can be inserted into the conical seat.
By rotating the threaded planer, the conical end can be accurately spaced from the conical seat.
In this way the valve opens and as a result the flow velocity can be precisely controlled between zero and maximum.
In most cases, the input and output ports are axial to each other.
However, different arrangements and configurations of these types of valves are available.
Needle valves can be adjusted manually or automatically.

Criteria for selecting a needle valve are:
Pressure
Work pressure is a key factor in choosing the right needle valve.
Strong needle valves can control pressures up to 5000-4000 psi (275 to 413 bar) at 100 degrees Fahrenheit (38 degrees Celsius).
When higher pressures are still needed, high performance valves are available that can control pressures up to 1000 psi (689 bar) at 100 degrees Fahrenheit (38 degrees Celsius).
Size
Needle valves are available in a wide range of sizes and end fittings.
Male / female fittings with threads in inches / meters can be used.
The most common valves available are 2 to 12 mm or 1.8 inches to 2 inches in size.
Using the right size, however, facilitates flow efficiency and the system operates with less room for leakage and wear.
Temperature
Needle valves can operate at high and low temperatures. For maximum temperatures, packaging / sealing is especially suitable.
Two examples of the most common materials used for packaging are polytetrafluoroethylene or Teflon for the temperature range from -65 to 450 degrees Fahrenheit (-54 to 232 degrees Celsius) and ketone polyether for increasing the temperature resistance up to 600 degrees. Fahrenheit (315 ° C).
Materials
Various materials are used to make needle valves.
The most common materials used are brass, 304 or 316 stainless steel, carbon steel and 400 alloy (nickel-based alloy).
Stainless steel is widely used due to its corrosion resistance, chemical stability and high temperature resistance.
Brass needle valves are used in hydraulic systems, high temperature applications and gas piping.
Due to its high strength and corrosion resistance, Alloy 400 is mainly used in chemical and marine processing applications.
An example of a rice needle valve
This type of needle valve is made of brass from NLB-014 series in a dense and compact, double-sided with 1.4 inch threads.
This valve can be used to precisely control the flow of clean gases or liquids.
This valve has a nominal internal diameter of 4 mm.
The pod is made of brass and sealed from NBR.
The maximum pressure is 40 bar and the allowable temperature range is up to 40 degrees Celsius.
Advantages
- Precise and uniform flow control
- trustworthy
- Very compact and compact design
- Suitable for a wide range of environments and applications
Disadvantages
- Can only be used for clean liquids or gases.
- For example, compared to ball valves, the pressure drop in this type of valves is relatively high.
NLB series
NLB series double-sided brass needle valves are designed to precisely control the flow rate for liquids and gases with a wide variety of port sizes from 1.8 inches to 2 inches.
Pressure range up to 100 bar and temperature range from -30 to 110 ° C.
NLB needle valves are available for a wide range of applications.
An example of a needle valve made of stainless steel
This type of needle valve is made of stainless steel from NLS-014 series in a dense and compact, double-sided with 1.4-inch threads.
This valve can be used to precisely control the flow of clean gases or liquids.
This valve has a nominal internal diameter of 3.5 mm.
The case is made of 316 stainless steel and PTFE sealing.
The maximum pressure is 300 bar and the temperature range is from -20 to the maximum of 200 ° C.
Due to the high quality material and strong construction, this type of valve is suitable for high pressures and aggressive liquids.
Advantages
- Precise and uniform flow control
- trustworthy
- Very compact and compact design
- Maximum pressure up to 200 bar
- Temperature range from – 20 to 100 degrees Celsius
- Due to the sealing of 316 stainless steel and PTFE is suitable for aggressive fluids.
Disadvantages
- Can only be used for clean liquids or gases.
- For example, compared to ball valves, the pressure drop in this type of valves is relatively high.
NLS series
NLS 316 double-sided stainless steel needle valves are designed for precise flow rate control for liquids and gases with a wide variety of port sizes from 1.8 inches to 1 inch.
Pressure range up to 100 bar and temperature range from -20 to 200 ° C.
NLS needle valves are available for a wide range of applications.
