What is Ecostat?
Ecostat (thermostats) are devices for controlling the temperature of water inside the network of heating or cooling system or hot water consumption or control of hot or cold air.
Each thermostat has a temperature-sensitive component that reacts to its change and disconnects and reconnects. This sensitive sensor component is called the following types:
1- Bimetallic (bimetallic strip)
2- Rods and tubes
3- Lantern
4- Electrical resistance
5- Hydraulic
Central heating system thermostats include room thermostat – boiler thermostat (acoustate) – wall thermostat – air thermostat.
The first 3 of the above 4 thermostats connect the electrical circuit by reducing the room air temperature or hot water of the boiler or the water inside the pipes, respectively, and after the temperature reaches the set limit, they connect the circuit.
Switch the thermostat on and off
In this type of thermostat, a bimetal is used to control the temperature.
This thermostat usually has a disconnection temperature of 0.5 to 2 degrees.
While adjusting the cut-off temperature difference, the small magnet is slightly closer to or farther away from the bimetallic strip.
The problem with this thermostat is that the room temperature rises again after the platinum is turned on and the heat pump is turned off.
The reason for this is the natural flow of water in the pipes. To compensate for these problems, the thermostat manufacturers put a small electrical resistor in the thermostat, which passes through it during the whole operation of the electric burner and keeps its temperature 1 degree higher than the ambient temperature. Does.
This resistance is also called propulsion resistance.
Boiler thermostat (ecostat)
Boiler thermostat, also known as submerged ecostat, is designed to regulate the temperature of liquids, which is used in central heating installations to command the burner to regulate the water temperature of the boiler.
The sensor part is hydraulic and is installed on the boiler with a sheath.
When the water temperature inside the boiler reaches the temperature set on the ecostat, the switch inside the ecostat is cut off by the valve and the burner stops working, and after the boiler water cools, the switch is reconnected and the burner is turned on.
Wall thermostat
The sensor of this thermostat is of non-metallic type and it is used in multi-room buildings that not many room thermostats can be installed for rooms.
As a wall thermostat is considered for the main pipe, this thermostat has a reset button and when the boiler water temperature drops and reaches a safe temperature by pressing the reset button, the burner will be used.
Another use is to turn the circulating pump on and off.
