What is a magnetic gauge?
Outside the enclosure is a marker equipped with a vacuum glass tube containing a two-sided double-sided magnetic strip.
In response to the movement of the surface, the float moves accordingly, forcing the magnetic stripe to rotate and change color.
The actual liquid level is indicated or read from the corresponding point on the scale.
Confused structure and features
The surface magnetic gauge has a simple design and consists of a main chamber and a float.
Main compartment
- Design in accordance with ANSI standard
- The installation and connection of the process is possible in several ways.
Enclosure material: LSS 304/304, LSS 316/316, SS 317, SS 321, SS 347, Ti2, C-276 HASTELLOY, 702-Zr, Nickel-6, 304 + PTFE, CPVC and PP
Floating
The float is a key component of the surface gauge that is magnetically coupled to the external indicator, fluid level switch and transmitter.
Principles of operation of surface magnetic gauges
In this method, the chamber and the sub-pipe are connected to the side of the tank and the liquid level in it goes up and down similarly inside the tank.
Magnetic buoyancy also moves inside the tube along with the liquid surface.
The chamber is completely sealed and therefore floating, the only part that is in contact with the fluid.
On the dry side of the chamber, there is a column of magnetic rollers, one side of which is white, for example, and the other side is red.
Rollers are usually made of plastic or ceramic.
As the float goes up and down, the permanent magnetic field around the roller changes, causing the roller to rotate 180 degrees; With this rotation, the color of the rollers changes.
When the float goes up, the color of the rollers changes from white to red, and when it goes down, it turns white.
This function means that at any time the amount of liquid in the tank is equal to the red column displayed.
Models of surface magnetic gauges
There are several standard models available to meet all needs:
- Pointer D
- Pointer F
- Pointer M
- Pointer R
- Pointer L
Special models
In addition to the types of models mentioned above, special models can also be produced.
Models with E-CTFE, PFA or ETFA coating, models made of plastic, HASTELLOY, MONEL, titanium can be created.
1. Surface magnetic gauge with Pointer D
With two or more connections related to the process for installation next to the tank.
This design is suitable for many different applications such as liquid tanks, LPG tanks and..
2. Surface magnetic gauge with Pointer F.
With a process connection at the bottom, this type is suitable for installation at the top of a tank.
This design is mostly used for sub-surface storage tank.
3. Surface magnetic gauge with Pointer M
With two or more connections related to the process for installation next to the tank.
This design is made specifically for evaporative applications.
4. Surface magnetic gauge with Pointer R
With two process connections at the end of the surface gauge, this type is suitable for installation between two pipelines.
5. Surface magnetic gauge with Pointer L
With a connection process for installation next to the tank, this model is often used for ship tanks.
