Calibration of DP surface transmitter with flood diaphragm and capillary
Calculation of capillary transmitter roll with flood diaphragm and capillary To determine the calibration range of DP surface transmitter for this type, we need to fill the fluid density inside the capillary tube, process fluid density, distance between HP and LP operating points, maximum surface to measure has it. Sometimes the distance between the HP & LP operating points and the maximum level for measurement is the same or may be different and depends entirely on the program, transmitter installations or your process requirements. If the transmitter capillary tube is filled with the same fluid, there is no need to consider the height of the transmitter installation. When one diaphragm is connected and the other diaphragm opens into the atmosphere, the height of the transmitter installation must be considered. In this example we consider the same filled fluid in the capillary tube and both diaphragms are connected to the tank.

This calculation is used to calibrate the DP surface transmitter with flood diaphragm and capillary
Anywhere
H1 = Maximum level to be measured
H2 = Height difference between HP & LP tapping points
ρP = Process fluid density in the tank
ρF = Fill fluid density inside the capillary tube
g = Gravitational acceleration
Note:
1- In this example, the maximum tank (100%) to be measured (H1) is considered below the height of the LP operating point (H2).
- In some cases the maximum is measured and the height of the LP operating point may be the same. Therefore, enter the difference between the amount of HP and LP at the operating points in H1 and H2
The following table shows the constant values of fluid flow:
